Welcome to the Discworld Tarot. This Web site is dedicated to an idea for a Discworld tarot deck (or Caroc, from the books) based on the characters in the series by Terry Pratchett. This site and the content was conceived, born and brought up on the long drive home from work.

This site includes interpretations of the cards (take with a tiny pinch of salt - I'm not responsible for any life changing decisions you take based on the conjunction between Mort and Magrat). For each card is included an analysis of its meaning, rationale and significance in a reading. I have also included a simple sample layout for you to use, as well as a more complex spread.

Note! I have put the whole deck in Word format into a zipfile to download (beware: 18Mb) if you do actually want to print them onto card. (I can hope.) If you're not interested in printing them out, try one of the random tarot generators such as the one here to fix a reading for you. Why photos?
I have little or no drawing ability and so it's all photo-based, cannibalised from Internet images. If the copyright belongs to you, please let me know and I'll try and do something about it. The photos also let me incorporate another idea that keeps making the rounds on the Internet - which actors should play which characters? If the imaginary casting couch catches your imagination, find out more at lspace.org. In fact, go there anyway - it's pretty comprehensive.

Disclaimer
I'm sure you'll disagree with some or all of my choices for cards, actors and interpretations. Everyone's got their own ideas (though there are limits). However, these are mine, and I'm sticking to them! (Mostly. On some I could be persuaded.)

Just saw the newsletter and your Tarot cards site. Not much to say really, but I think you did a very nice job on them, and I like your casting choices. The write ups were thoughtful, and your Photoshopping skills are in fact quite good. Thanks for doing the work!

Holy pancake flipping jesus! i never realised how much of the discworld is already out there in living people. And um i kinda support anything that has john meyers in a page. No I'm not an obsessive fangirl. Not at all *shifty look* um yeah anyway ya did a really good job matching up characters to people, am in awe *bows down* Ya got carrot and Angua dead on, he should use your tarot, I'm so supportive.
